Before you decide why, understand what is happening
We make judgements quickly. Lazy. Difficult. Disengaged. Rude. Not resilient. Poor attitude. Poor performance.
But is that really what is happening? Or is that simply what we have judged from what we can see?
Behaviour tells you what you can see when you do not look further. It does not tell you what is creating it.
A missed deadline may be a performance issue. It may also involve overload, unclear expectations, working memory, competing priorities or a way of working that has stopped working.
A difficult conversation may be about conduct. It may also have started because two people communicate, process information or respond to pressure very differently.
Ask before you assume. That small shift can change the whole conversation.
These aren’t awareness questions. They’re work questions.
What the sessions help people do
We are not interested in spending an hour teaching definitions that people can find online. The sessions are designed to help people:
- spot what may be sitting behind behaviour, communication or performance
- separate what they have observed from what they think it means
- ask better questions before reaching conclusions
- identify barriers without lowering standards
- make a practical decision about what happens next
One issue. One hour. A better way to deal with it.
Who is this for?
Managers. HR and People teams. Leaders. Employees. Parents and carers. Neurodivergent people. Anyone dealing with a situation and wanting a better way to think about it.
You do not need to be responsible for neurodiversity. You only need a workplace question worth answering.
